Do you have any performance space requirements?
We ask that you please provide four armless chairs and a shaded area approximately ten feet by ten feet in which to set up our equipment.
Do you play outside?
Yes. However, because of the delicacy of our instruments we require that our playing space be in complete shade. If there is any precipitation on the day of the event we must also be completely covered to protect our instruments. If there is any chance of our instruments getting wet, even if only a very light moisture, we will have to pack our instruments back in their cases. The instruments also cannot be subjected to extreme heat or cold. If the temperature is below 55 or over 95 we will have to pack them away.
Do you attend the pre-function rehearsal?
Should you have specific performance directions that require rehearsal or pre-function attendance, this can be arranged for an additional fee. Our normal arrangement is to discuss the proceedings of the event well in advance via e-mail and phone conversation. We will arrive 30 minutes before we are scheduled to play on the day of the event in order to set up and confirm details.
Will the musicians I see and hear on this website be the same ones at my event?
Yes! If for some reason a member of the Orelia String Quartet is unable to perform we will call upon one of a number of talented musicians with whom we regularly work.
How do I book a date?
An event is considered booked when a signed written contract and deposit is received by the quartet. A written contract protects both the quartet and you from possible misunderstandings.
